“Peanut Butter Promise: Power of Purpose”

There may be no one better than Steve Rose to help encourage and persuade students to get and stay on the right track to a successful life.  As someone who majorly “messed up” early after high school graduation, he delicately but boldly shares his journey of rebellion and ruin.  From alcoholism and other poor choices, to finding hope and help through recovery and then by applying the Peanut Butter Promise and it’s powerful principles.  The key to the 45-minute “PBP: Power of Purpose” is that he is able to convince students that their lives do have a unique purpose; their noble dreams will come true; and people will come into their lives to help them achieve those dreams.

During the “PBP: Promise: Power of Purpose” message he spends the first 10-minutes winning and warming the young people with hilarious PowerPoint pictures, one as a farm boy, one from his high school prom, and a few for his recent Hollywood business visits working on book/TV business.  He then gives the powerful 7 Principle of the Peanut Butter Promise.  Steve has given his motivational message in over 60 public high schools.  If time allows afterwards Steve loves to sign books or autographs and answer questions.  Here are the PBP: Power of Purpose” highlights.

• Steve Rose Story: “You Can’t Mess Up Your Life Badly Enough to Not Have Your Dreams Come True!”  (Great pictures and slides on PowerPoint)
• 7 Powerful Principles of the PBP Can Lead You to Your Dreams!
• The Key Habit Every Student Can and Should Practice Now
• Steve’s Personal Tribute to His Favorite Teachers
• Lots of Humor, Anecdotes and Great Stories!

“Good job on the assembly!  You held the attention of 420 students.  Your message of respecting peers, teachers, parents and adults and peer pressure was well received.  I have heard many positive comments from the students and staff.”
Jamie Benson

“Your Power of Purpose message was refreshing.  You’re a down-to-earth, real person who students can relate to.  The message of discipline and commitment is so important.  And thanks for taking the time to visit with the kids afterwards.”
Duane Schober New Glarus HS Principal

“The students enjoyed your talk immensely.  It was motivating especially with some of our marginal students…some have been putting out a little extra effort and have seen the results of their hard work.”

“Don’t Be The Memorial In Your Yearbook”

This sobering 45-minute challenge to students is given typically prior to Homecomings and Proms and takes an Alcohol & Other Drug Addiction (AODA) approach.  The message was birthed in 1976 when Steve’s friend and Prom King Billy was killed at 16-yrs-old in an alcohol-related auto accident.  He even shows a picture of him kneeling by Billy’s gravestone at a cemetery near their high school.  Students and faculty are all ears when he shares this compassionate, bold, but yet sensitive message of how they can spare themselves, family and friends from the heartbreak of poor decisions.  He talks a lot about getting on top of life through discipline now to have the best chance to succeed.  He uses his story to comfort students to know that they can and will make mistakes, but can still achieve their dreams.  This presentation has been life changing and includes the following: presentation.

• Steve Rose’s Alcoholism, Disaster & Recovery to Dreams Story
• Why Beer, Drugs and Smoke are “For Dopes Only”
• The Billy Strassburg Story, 1959-1976
• 7 Principles of the Peanut Butter Promise
• Lots of Hope, Help and Encouragement!

Here is what they are saying about Steve Rose’s “Don’t Be on the Memorial Page” in schools…

“What impressed me most while watching you interact with the students is you did not preach to them.  You spoke in an honest, open fashion of your experiences about how drugs and alcohol affected your life - and you made it clear you did not want them to have to go through the hardships you endured.  You truly touched the students.  Thanks Steve”
Dani Scott, MS.Ed
North Crawfored HS Psychologist, AODA Coordinator

“Steve has the ability to combine wit, factual information and his experiences into why students should avoid drugs and alcohol to avoid failure so they can be successful in the future.”
Marv Groskreutz
Randolph District Administrator

“Steve Goes to Class”

This opportunity is one of Steve’s favorites of all the speaking he does anywhere.  He offers to spend up to three-hours of quality time in classrooms, adding a personal touch where he shares and then does a Q & A.  Intimacy is the real key here.  The students love this as much as Steve as he tells stories and really gets to the nuts and bolts of how they can live their dreams through the power of the Peanut Butter Promise.  A “SGC” can precede, follow or stand alone with another school assembly program.  Steve is available to spend more than 3-hours if requested.  The one restriction is Steve prefers to do these for juniors and seniors.  Satisfaction guaranteed or investment returned.  Here are some examples and suggestions of who has benefited from this unique high school presentation.

• Writing Classes
• Entrepreneur and Gifted Students
• Business and Marketing Classes
• Athletic Team Pep Talks
• For Coaches
